The Frowning Clouds – Turning Back Time

The Frowning Clouds are short on words, but big on rock and that’s all we need to know really. With plans to spit out a few 7” records this year. (Yeah for vinyl releases!) The band will be up this weekend to hit MUM @ World Bar.

Music Feeds: What’s new for The Frowning Clouds?

The Frowning Clouds: We recently recorded some tracks last time we were in Sydney and plan on releasing three 7″s that we’re going to release this year.

MF: Describe for us your sound?

FC: 60’s inspired garage rock with a bit of pop

MF: The term Nostalgia gets used a lot to describe you guys; what’s the difference between nostalgia and retro?

FC: I dunno… I think they’re the same, only trendy people prefer one over the other

MF: Which artists influence/inspire The Frowning Clouds?

FC: All 5 of us are into different kinds of music… collectively we all dig garage RnB stuff… some more contemporary bands that are doing things we like are Straight Arrows, Thee Oh Sees, UV Race, Ty Segall, Cobwebbs…etc

MF: What’s on the cards for the remainder of 2011?

FC: Releasing these 7″s I was yakking about before, and a cheeky tour or two

MF: What can Music Feeds’ readers expect from your set when we see you play MUM on May 6th?

FC: 5 haircuts with guitars.

MF: First track you’d put onto a mix tape?

FC: It Happens AgainStraight Arrows
