2012 APRA Music Awards Nominees Announced

The APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) has just announced its 2012 nominees.

Awards over nine categories ranging from pop, blues and roots, urban, rock, dance and country are up for grabs with an impressive list of contenders including Drapht, Boy & Bear, Daniel Merriweather and Charlie and David Yunupingu.

As for the most prestingous prize, the song of the year, the nominees comprise of Matt Corby for Brother, Kimbra for Cameo Lover (which just won the top award at the 2012 International Songwriting Competition), Lanie Lane for (Oh Well) That’s What You Get (Falling In Love With A Cowboy), Gotye for Somebody That I Used to Know and clear favourites The Beards for You Should Consider Having Sex With A Bearded Man.
