A Kanye West Classic Finally Achieves Diamond-Certification

A Diamond-certified record is a coup for any artist, signifying more than 10 million sales. It’s not an easy feat, but Kanye West has finally gotten there.

This week, his classic track ‘Stronger’ – first released in 2007 – has surpassed the 10 million mark, earning Kanye his first ever Diamond-certified single.

The track, taken from Kanye’s third studio album Graduation, became a cultural moment: the fusion of Kanye’s production and bars over that sample of Daft Punk’s ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ made it an instant hit. It won the Grammy for Best Solo Rap Performance at the 50th Grammy Awards and has since become one of the highest selling singles in the United States alone.
