It Looks Like ABBA Are Making Their Return This Week

ABBA fans are mobilising with the announcement that something ‘sensational’ is on the way this week.

For the Australian fans, the news will be revealed via a special livestream on Friday (September 3rd) at 2:45am. The event is called ‘ABBA Voyage’.

And already, it’s sparked rumours of new music, collaborations and the long-mused over ABBA hologram tour.

The hologram tour, first discussed all the way back in 2016, is looking likely, as ‘ABBA-tars’ have begun appearing; like this one below, in London at Waterloo Station.

Fans have been asked to register their interest in ABBA Voyage at the band’s official website; a countdown is currently winding its way down to zero tonight.

The iconic group are rumoured to be releasing their first set of original material in over 20 years, with the BBC reporting that five new songs are expected to be announced along with the hologram shows.

British tabloid The Sun has reported that the ABBA hologram unveiling will see the digital versions of the Swedes beamed onto a purpose-built stage in a London theatre. Fans will also be able to see a documentary charting the band’s journey to this special comeback.

In an interview with The Herald Sun earlier in the year, songwriter Bjorn Ulvaeus confirmed that new ABBA music was in the pipeline, for release “definitely this year”.
