One of Australia’s most respected songwriters, the inimitable Abbe May has returned with her latest release and a gripping accompanying video, titled Perth Girls. The clip is a unique tribute to Robert Palmer‘s oft-imitated and even more often parodied rage-staple, Simply Irresistable.
Earlier this year, May released her album, Kiss My Apocalypse, to rave critical acclaim, celebrating the success by signing with prestigious publisher Alberts, before going viral with her Like A Version cover of Ginuwine’s Pony and nabbing an ARIA nomination for Best Female.
May has paired Perth Girls with the brand new song, Total Control, on a Double-A side release, with the latter a take on The Motels‘ 80s Aussie classic. May is also embarking on an Australian tour, dates and details for which readers can check out below, along with the Perth Girls clip.
