Alexisonfire have joined forces with Underoath for a package tour of Australia, that will see the North American post-hardcore luminaries play co-headlining shows next March. The former return to Australia after two years, having last visited in February of 2023, while the latter returns after nearly six following their 2019 support run with The Amity Affliction. Both bands return to Australia celebrating the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough 2004 albums, Watch Out! for Alexisonfire and They’re Only Chasing Safety for Underoath. The former was the band’s second studio album, which marked their first time cracking the Canadian top ten (peaking at number six) and going on to Platinum certification in their home country. The latter, meanwhile, was Underoath’s fourth overall and first with long-serving vocalist Spencer Chamberlain and went on to Gold certification by the Recording Industry Assosication of America. As part of their celebration, the album will be played by the band in its entirety as part of their set each night on this tour.
Alexisonfire – ‘Accidents’
Joining the two bands as the opening act on all dates will be American hardcore band GEL, making their Australian debut. The New Jersey punk act released their debut studio album, Only Constant, in 2023. In a post to their social media pages, Gel thanked Alexisonfire and Underoath for bringing them to Australia for the first time. “We’re excited to rock together,” they wrote.
Ahead of Alexisonfire’s return to Australia, lead guitarist and vocalist Dallas Green will play his own City & Colour shows throughout January. That, too, will be a co-headlining run – with Green’s City & Colour being joined by American blues-rockers Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.
