Aussie rapper Allday has hitched his wagon to the current wave of hip hop for his brand new track Raceway. The song sees the Melbourne-via-Adelaide emcee channel his best Drake, with slight tinges of The Weeknd to finish it off.
A lot has changed for the former pizza boy since he began penning his new record at various locations throughout New York and LA. For one, now he’s “got some models come through with” him, which we’re sure is a wholesome and fulfilling experience.
Raceway (below) is a low-key affair populated by dappled beats, auto-tune and full bars of half-spoken, half-drowsily sung lyrics. Raceway arrives as Allday continues work on a new album, which he tells triple j is 95 per cent complete.
Already we caught a glimpse of the release via Sides, which the Chubby Boy himself took on a national tour. The as-yet-untitled album will follow in the footsteps of older sibling Startup Cult, which took Allday from a social media phenomenon to a worldwide one.
