Australia’s beloved son Cody Simpson has returned to caress our eardrums with a brand new song.
The singer-songwriter, Olympic-level swimmer and all-around good guy is offering a glimpse into his first new album in almost six years with the release of ‘Nice To Meet You’.
As per the title of the track, Walker hopes the song — and ensuing album that follows it later in the year — will form a reintroduction to himself as an artist.
“…producing this album not only was a chance to reclaim some innocence — which was temporarily lost in America — but it has an ever so subtle sense of time and place,” reveals Cody.
“I’m ready for a new chapter in my life. Recording this album and the studio we did it in, with all this richness of history there, was a real cathartic and intrinsic experience.”
‘Nice To Meet You’ is a slow-burning acoustic guitar-driven ballad that lets Walker’s soulful vocals soar, and it arrives alongside an intimate, self-directed music video shot on location on the Gold Coast’s Miami Beach, which you can check out below.
