Alter Bridge have delighted fans with news today that we can expect to get our grubby mitts on their latest full-length album as soon as Friday, 27th September. The album, titled Fortress marks the 4th such release from the band, following on from where 2010’s AB III left off.
It’s safe to say there are high expectations surrounding the new offering considering that AB III dropped to deafening applause. That particular record proved its worth by killing it in the Top 10 of the UK Album Chart. Having tasted that, the band are returning for more.
Once again they’ve teamed up with renowned studio dweller Michael ‘Elvis’ Baskette to produce the release, which contains material said to be the heaviest in the band’s catalogue. Fortress is sure to see the band further praised as one of contemporary hard rock’s breakthrough bands.
Legendary axe-man and main member Mark Tremonti commented on the release, stating:
“When we started pre-production on this album, we pushed ourselves harder and further than we ever have previously in order to make the most out of every individual arrangement. We wanted this album to be our most unpredictable and exciting one yet. From the early feedback we have received, it looks like we have achieved what we set out to do,”
It’s now only a matter of weeks until the album fans have been waiting 3 years for will be released. Hang tight for a tour announcement, my friends.
