Polish Club Announce New Album ‘Pound Cake’, Share Dobby Collab And Tour Dates

Polish Club have shared details of their sixth studio album, which is entitled Pound Cake. The new album is set to arrive in less than a month’s time, being released independently on Friday, May 23rd. It arrives less than a year after its predecessor, Heavy Weight Heart, which was released in September of 2024. Additionally, the band have shared new music from the album and a run of national tour dates – all of which can be found below.

Following on from the double A-side of ‘Take It’ and ‘S.N.A.F.U.’ earlier this year, Polish Club have now shared the album’s latest single: ‘Something On The Side’, which features ARIA Award-winning rapper Dobby in what marks the first-ever collaborative single released by the band. An accompanying music video has also been shared for it, which was filmed entirely by lead vocalist/guitarist David Novak on a 360-degree camera on location in Hurstville, in the southern suburbs of Sydney. In a newsletter sent to the band’s fans, Novak offered only this statement on the band’s new video clip: “It was an absolute punish to edit.”

Polish Club – the duo of Novak and drummer John-Henry Pajak – recorded Pound Cake at The Confectionery, a studio in Sydney’s inner west, with long-time producer and collaborator Wade Keighran. In addition to streaming services and a digital download, the band are also pressing 300 copies of the album on “random recycled colour” vinyl – which can be ordered from their website.

To celebrate the release of the album, the band will tour in their original duo mode in June for four intimate shows, dubbed the Pound Cake It If Ya Horny tour. These will be the only shows the band play in support of the album.
