After a successful debut in 2020, televised ANZAC Day concert Music From The Home Front will return in 2021 and its lineup is jam-packed with stellar local talent.
Taking place on ANZAC Day eve, Saturday 24th April at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, the 2021 lineup includes the likes of Amy Shark, Lime Cordiale, Tina Arena, Jerome Farah, Jimmy Barnes, Kasey Chambers, Tash Sultana, The Kid LAROI, The Rubens, You Am I and more.
While the 2020 event was filmed entirely during lockdown, the 2021 concert will be a mix of live-on-stage and live-streamed performances. Punters can either attend the event in person, with tickets going on sale this Friday (16 April), or via broadcast on Nine from 7.30pm local time.
Music From The Home Front 2020 was the brainchild of the late Mushroom Group CEO Michael Gudinski and staged in a mere nine days as a way to unite Australians during the pandemic. According to a statement, Gudinski was well into planning this year’s concert before his unexpected passing in March.
“Dad had many great passions throughout his career, but his love of the local music industry never shone brighter than it did during the last year as we suffered through the impact of COVID-19. It’s incredibly fitting that Music From The Home Front, a project he was immensely proud of in 2020, was one of the events he was working on right up until his last day,” says Mushroom Group’s new CEO Matt Gudinski, Micheal’s son.
“That we can bring to life a broadcast concert version from his hometown of Melbourne, supporting the industry he loved, in a city he long promoted as the leading music capital of Australia, resonates deeply with all of us at Mushroom.”
