Pop superstar and TV personality Kelly Clarkson has covered a song by our very own indie-rock queen Angie McMahon during her daily talk show on US daytime tele.
The OG American Idol recently belted out a rendition of McMahon’s ‘Letting Go’ for the ongoing ‘Kellyoke’ segment of her The Kelly Clarkson Show. And now, the Aussie artist has shared her awestruck reaction.
“It feels soooo unreal”
“It feels soooo unreal that Kelly sang this song today on her tv show, the lyrics that I wrote alone in my room during one of the hardest chapters of my life,” McMahon wrote, alongside a video showing her watching Clarkson’s performance on her PC.
As well as performing the song, Kelly also shouted out the ARIA Award-winning album it features on, McMahon’s 2023 Light, Dark, Light Again LP.
Aussies also voted ‘Letting Go’ into the Hottest 100 of 2023 at number #67.
