Angus Stone’s new Dope Lemon single, ‘Stingray Pete’, comes with a cinematic, Western-themed video starring Stone as the titular gun-slinger.
Early in the clip, Stingray Pete slays a couple foes and then sets fire to the evidence, along with a corn acreage. There are also horses and cigars and dreamy gazes into the camera. Daniel Mayne directed and produced the video, which co-stars Karl Nastasi and Dan Llewellyn alongside a few screen horses supplied by Nastasi Performance Horses.
‘Stingray Pete’ will appear on the upcoming Dope Lemon album, Rose Pink Cadillac. The album is due out on Friday, 12th November. It’s Stone’s third album under the Dope Lemon moniker and follows 2019’s Smooth Big Cat.
The album will also feature the singles ‘Rose Pink Cadillac’, ‘Kids Fallin’ in Love’ and ‘Every Day Is a Holiday’, Stone’s collaboration with Winston Surfshirt.
“Rose Pink Cadillac has been an epic frontier to have embarked on,” Stone said in a statement. “The making of this creation took months of many tireless long nights… plus many bottles of delicious whiskey and treats.”
Stone is giving away a rose pink Cadillac in conjunction with the album’s release. It’s a 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood that’s been restored to “pristine” condition. Fans can go into the running by pre-ordering the record here.
