Dope Lemon – AKA one half of the Stone siblings, Angus Stone – has announced a new album, entitled Golden Wolf. The album marks Stone’s fifth overall under the Dope Lemon moniker, and follows on from his 2023 effort Kimosabè. It is set for release on Friday, May 9th in 2025 via BMG. To coincide with the album’s announcement, Stone has shared its latest single entitled ‘Electric Green Lambo’, which can be streamed below.
In a press statement describing the new track, Stone compares ‘Electric Green Lambo’ to “stepping into a lucid dream — part reckless adventure, part hazy nostalgia”. “It’s about chasing untamed energy, getting lost in neon and smoke, and breaking free from what holds you back,” he said. “There’s this tension between wild freedom and the pull of something darker. It’s raw, dripping with mood, and – like the ride itself – unapologetically slick.” The song’s music video, directed by Daniel Mayne, depicts Stone as both the pilot and passenger of a private jet on “Dope Airways”. The clip’s footage cuts between him flying the plane and performing the song with his bandmates.

Prior to Golden Wolf‘s official announcement, Stone had shared the album’s title track back in November. The song came in at number 200 in the triple j Hottest 200 of 2024. It followed on from a national tour Stone had undertaken with his sister Julia earlier in 2024, which saw them play theatres across the country in support of their sixth studio album Cape Forestier.
Golden Wolf marks Stone’s seventh solo album overall. In 2009, he released his debut album Smoking Gun – which marked the only album he ever released under the project name Lady Of The Sunshine. It featured an early version of ‘Big Jet Plane’, the song that would go on to be re-recorded by the Stones in 2010 and top that year’s Hottest 100 countdown. 2012 saw Stone release Broken Brights under his own name, before he ultimately adopted the Dope Lemon moniker circa 2016.
Golden Wolf can be pre-saved on streaming services and pre-ordered on both CD and a limited edition gold vinyl by clicking here.
