Anna Lunoe has shared her first new music of 2025: A stand-alone single entitled ‘Girl’, which marks her debut collaboration with former Spice Girl Melanie C. The pair met at Coachella last year, with Lunoe later approaching Sporty Spice to provide vocals to a then-new instrumental she had been working on. “People say never to meet your idols, but getting to meet Mel and subsequently become friends was one of my favourite moments of last year,” Lunoe said in a press statement.
“It’s been so amazing to get to know the wonderful person behind the icon and this song found its home with Mel’s incredible vocal tone and heart.” Melanie C, for her part, said that Lunoe’s feelings were mutual. “Anna and I have become great friends,” she said. “We have so much in common: our love of music, being mums and dancing our asses off. I’m super excited [about] ‘Girl’; it’s a banger!”

Lunoe released her debut album, Pearl, in October of 2024 via NLV Records, the label of her longtime friend and collaborator Nina Las Vegas. The album featured contributions from the likes of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Shanique Marie and Iglew. Melanie C, meanwhile, has not released any new music since her self-titled eighth solo album in 2020. She has, however, done remixes for the likes of Jessie Ware (‘Free Yourself’) and Tove Lo (‘I Like U’) in recent years. Her ninth solo album is tentatively slated for release in 2025, with the singer working with Uffie and Billan Ted on the project.
