Another Angel Steps Down Following Cancer Complications

The Angels have announced more tragic news from their camp. Bassist Chris Bailey has had to step down from his role in order to focus on cancer treatment.

The band made the announcement on their website today, describing Baily’s condition as “aggressive” and “life-threatening”. According to News.com.au, it was apparently known to some in the music industry that he was fighting cancer, but he will now be undergoing palliative chemotherapy.

Bailey played with the band from 1976 until 1982 but joined once more in 2002. The band revealed that they had been working in the studio with Bailey on some forthcoming material. His son, Sam, will be performing his bass duties as he has done in the past when Bailey was feeling unwell.

This comes just a matter of days after frontman Doc Neeson was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

There will be an announcement soon on a benefit gig to raise funds for Bailey’s treatment
