A$AP Rocky Performs Atop Giant Cage For First Show In Sweden Since His Arrest

A$AP Rocky has performed in Sweden for the first time since his arrest earlier this year, performing at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm last night

Rocky was arrested in Sweden on assault charges back in July after an altercation between him and his crew and two other men. In August, the rapper was found guilty of assault, but did not face additional jail time.

The A$AP Mob member originally intended to perform for inmates at Kronoberg prison, where he was held for weeks after his arrest earlier this year, but was not granted permission.

Instead, the rapper donated a portion of the ticket proceeds at the Stockholm show to Swedish Network of Refugee Support Groups, a volunteer organisation working with refugees and asylum seekers.

“Even when I’m denied access to donate or perform for the inmates in Sweden I still want to raise awareness for the immigrants and poor [people] of outside surrounding areas,” Rocky wrote on Twitter earlier this week.

“This has been a difficult journey, but I feel it’s my task to give back to [people] who supported me when I was down.”

The rapper’s incarceration was a focus of the show, with his stage design centring around a giant cage where his dancers performed, and later entering it himself.

Rocky brought a positive outlook to the crowd, telling them “I brought you here today for love and unity. That’s why I brought you here today.”

“The whole message today – spread love and have fucking fun tonight.”
