ATP Release The Bats Gets Last-Minute Lineup Changes

It’s almost time for St Kilda to get spooky, with All Tomorrow’s Parties’ Halloween extravaganza, Release The Bats, taking place tomorrow, but not without a little bit of last minute controversy in the form of changes to the bill.

English producer Forest Swords, aka Matthew Barnes, has sadly pulled out of the event, citing medical problems:

“Due to unforeseen health issues I’ve been forced to pull out of both ATP Release The Bats and Pitchfork Festival Paris next week. I’m upset I won’t be getting there this time around, but looking forward to returning to those cities in 2014.”

Bedroom producer Balam Acab was also removed from the lineup last week, although with a little less fanfare. There was no explanation for the 20-year-old’s disappearance from the bill except a note on the ATP website saying that he was “cancelling all upcoming 2013 tour dates” and his removal from the tour poster.

There is some hot replacement action, though – Brooklyn’s Prince Rama have been slotted in, with sisters Taraka and Nimai Larson bringing their glorious psychedelic dance tunes to the aptly titled Prince Bandroom stage.

Organisers have also revealed that Twerps are the hotly touted Release The Bats Secret Band, with the Melburnian jangly popsters sure to delight the crowd.

Release The Bats takes place tomorrow, Saturday, 26th October at the Palais Theatre and Prince Bandroom in St Kilda, headlined by Television and The Breeders. Tickets are completely sold out. You check out the set times below.
