Fuck the 90’s pop throwbacks, there’s a party going down in Melbourne this Saturday night celebrating all the shit from the iconic decade that’s actually worth getting nostalgic about.
Bang! nightclub is redefining the term ‘rager’ by chucking a bash in honour of the “90’s era of MTV” complete with a local supergroup headlining with a set of your fave Rage Against The Machine tunes (which FYI also coincides with the 25th anniversary of iconic rap-metal act’s debut album).
The parts of Zack De La Rocha, Tom Morello & co will be played by members from Melbourne scene stalwarts I, Valiance & Stepson, while alt-rockers Letters To Amara will be performing a set of No Doubt covers & their own originals, and ditto for Catholic Guilt with Nirvana.
The venue’s iconic Rave Cave will be transformed into ‘Hell In A Cell’ with DJ’s spinning all your 90’s metal faves so you can ~bang~ it like Beavis & Butthead into the wee hours.
Meanwhile, the venue will also host Japanese all-girl group MAX’s official After Party, with their side project Party Pupils hitting the party room from midnight for a guest DJ set.
Also, “Check out the grand cornholio of photobooths featuring the famous livingroom backdrop HEH HEH HEH,” promoters write (now you do what they told ya).
It comes after riffmaster Tom Morello himself told Music Feeds his own RATM cover band/supergroup Prophets Of Rage are hoping to tour Australia in 2018.
