Australian producer and multi-instrumentalist Audrey Powne has unveiled her second and latest single title track “From The Fire” and announced her debut album with the same name, which is set to drop on April 26th via UK record label BBE.
Following the success of Audrey Powne’s first single “Feed The Fire,” which gained airplay on various Australian radio stations, Audrey’s newest release delves deeper into her abilities as a composer and self-produced artist.
Audrey Powne – ‘From The Fire’
‘From The Fire’ explores themes of optimism and renewal, symbolizing second chances and personal growth. Written and produced by Audrey Powne herself at Sing Sing East Studios in Melbourne, the track boasts a rich blend of groove-laden instrumentation and layered choral harmonies, drawing inspiration from her musical influences like Herbie Hancock and Roy Hargrove.
Audrey Powne explains via her press release, “The groove and harmonic content is inspired by the music of Herbie Hancock, particularly his 70s albums ‘Secrets’ and ‘Sunlight,’ which have been a huge influence on me. The layered, harmonized trumpet solo is directly inspired by the late, great trumpet player Roy Hargrove, who is the most profound influence on me as a trumpeter.”
Audrey Powne’s single package for “From The Fire” will also be released on March 1st, before the full debut album release in April. The track was mixed by Russel Fawcus and mastered by Grammy-nominated Frank Merritt.
