Artists including Flume, Genesis Owusu, Flight Facilities and Matt Corby and festivals like Laneway and Groovin the Moo are uniting for a fundraiser auction dubbed Rebuild the Northern Rivers, aimed at providing assistance to the region after it was devastated by recent flooding. The fundraiser has been organised by Sophie Kirov of touring and event production company Lost Motel, herself a Northern Rivers resident.
Among the items and experiences on offer for those wanting to lend a hand are a VIP and backstage package for Flight Facilities’ upcoming curated Airfields concert in Sydney, tickets and a backstage Ableton production session from Flume, a three-day recording and writing session with Matt Corby, a VIP double pass to Laneway for five years, and side of stage viewing for any artist at this year’s Groovin the Moo.
Other artists and labels who’ve contributed tickets and other items for auction include The Amity Affliction, Dune Rats, Hayden James, RÜFÜS DU SOL, San Cisco, Violent Soho, Future Classic and I Oh You. There’s also a ton of pretty amazing stuff on offer outside the world of music, like luxury accommodation packages, overseas trips, beer brewing experiences, fashion vouchers and heaps more.
Best of all, it’s all going to a good cause. At the end of the auction, 100% of all donations will be split between Good360’s NSW Flood Appeal, the Koori Mail’s Bundjalung Community Flood Raiser and Byron Community Centre in partnership with the Northern Rivers Community Foundation.
“The generosity and kindness of bands and brands with their contributions has completely floored me and I am grateful beyond these words,” Kirov commented in a statement. “Please share, buy a raffle ticket, have a bid and good luck!”
