Aussies Anna Lunoe And Alison Wonderland Just Made History At Electric Daisy Carnival

It seems unbelievable that it’s taken until 2016 for a solo female act to play the main stage of iconic Las Vegas dance festival Electric Daisy Carnival but it has, and our Aussie legends Anna Lunoe and Alison Wonderland were the ones to buck the trend.

Lunoe was the first woman to play the main stage and was swiftly followed by Alison Wonderland earlier today.

Hardwell, The Chainsmokers and DJ Snake were just a handful of the artists also playing the main stage at the festival but Lunoe and Wonderland proved that there should be plenty more female ats up on that stage in future years.

After her performance Lunoe tweeted, “we just went down in history,” while Wonderland tweeted, “I feel honoured and also a massive responsibility to represent what’s right.”

EDC has been going for almost 20 years and it took them that time to put a female act on the main stage. While Lunoe is the first solo female act to play the main stage, EDM duo Krewella were the first duo to do it.

Lunoe and Wonderland aren’t the only Aussies to play the 130,000 punter-strong festival with both What So Not and Hermitude also on the lineup.

A massive congratulations to our Aussie women for representing what’s just. Let’s hope there’s way more than just two female acts gracing the main stage of dance festivals all around the world from this point onwards.
