Wonderland, who has also been outspoken regarding the demise of Sydney’s nightlife – has had a ridiculous run of touring following the release of her immense debut album Run in 2015. Since then, she’s played a national tour, Splendour In The Grass, Coachella and Groovin The Moo – but the queen of Aussie electro saved a special performance for the rural town of Geraldton at the One Night Stand.
Now she’s uploaded a video to her Facebook containing unseen footage of her warming up for the gig with her special guests including Patience from The Grates, Brave, Jess Kent and Ben Woolner of SAFIA (who apparently gets “nervous pees” before gigs). There are also snippets from interviews with each of her guests before they went on stage, and footage of Alison warming up her pitch by listening to her own songs on her phone.
The video starts with Wonderland warming up her cello, and finishes with the moment she began to play the instrument in front of the whole One Night Stand crowd – something that she hasn’t done before or since.
“Big thanks to triple j for having me at One Night Stand in Geraldton!” reads an accompanying post. “It was the first time I had done so many things live in my show and I was so glad I was able to have such fun doing it.”
