The second most anticipated announcement concerning the return of Warped Tour to Australia has now happened. AJ Maddah has tweeted out each city that will get the festival, and the dates that it will be in town. Things will be kicking off at the very end of November and carrying on through to early December, adding another key player to our summer festival list.
Warped will be stopping by most major cities. The east coast has been well covered with shows hitting Brissy, Sydney, Melbourne and cheeky stop-offs at both Coffs Harbour and Canberra. Warped will veer off the east coast for an event in Adelaide for the final show. Perth has missed out on account of its poor record with punk shows – as Maddah explains, it is usually a “massive fuckastrophe”.
Venues are yet to be locked in, so no sign yet as to whether it will be a stadium sort of thing like sister event Soundwave, or a more environmental vibe like its other sister event, Harvest Festival. The lineup has been given a street date of May, so any day now we will have a solid list of local and international punk bands. Stay tuned
