Avenged Sevenfold Talk ‘Hail To The King’, Say New Album Is “Built For Our Fans”

Avenged Sevenfold have released a new video interview via their official YouTube channel, in which the band discuss the making of their sixth studio album Hail to the King. The California band was recently announced as one of the headliners for Soundwave 2014 along with Green Day.

If the video is anything to go by, it looks like Soundwave punters are in for a very special treat with rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance explaining the band’s live preparation for the new record, saying “We’ve been planning our live show since these songs were written. These songs demand an epic live show. I’m really looking forward to playing Hail to the King.”

Speaking about the album, Vengeance when on to say that it’s a return to A7X’s roots of sorts, saying “It’s an homage to all the music that we love…it’s straightforward, it’s heavy, it’s built for our fans that come out and see us live.”

In the video, which you can check out below, the band discuss the influences behind the record, which include hard rock luminaries such as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. The band embarked on a quest to figure out what made these bands into legendary rock icons, said Vengeance: “What we came up with was those bands just fucking rock.”

Sounds like they figured it out alright. Hail to the King was released this Friday in Australia and New Zealand and 27th August worldwide.
