Balance & Composure and Drain have both shared headlining dates outside of their run as part of the second New Bloom Festival, which is set for the March long weekend across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. All the mini-festival’s sideshows are set to take place in cities that are not hosting New Bloom, with the sole exception of Balance’s Melbourne show at Brunswick’s Stay Gold.
Joining each band as their respective support act are two other bands from the New Bloom bill: Glitterer for Balance, and One Step Closer for Drain. The former is the project of former Title Fight frontman Ned Russin, which is making its Australian debut as part of the run. The latter, meanwhile, are returning to Australia following their debut headlining tour in February 2023. They have since released their second studio album, All You Embrace, which was released in May 2024.
Balance And Composure – ‘Saviour Mode’
Balance & Composure last toured Australia in 2017, supporting the previous year’s Light We Made album. The band folded in 2019, following what were believed to be their final shows. They ultimately reunited in 2023, however, and put out their fourth album With You In Spirit back in October. Drain, meanwhile, made their Australian debut in January 2023 as support for Comeback Kid, and closed out the year with their own headlining tour in December. Between their first and second tours of Australia, they released their second studio album Living Proof.
