Fresh off their second Splendour In The Grass performance in the last three years, Brisbane indie rockers Ball Park Music have announced the addition an extra tour date for their forthcoming national tour.
The tour kicks off on the 3rd of September, and tickets have been selling so fast that the first Brisbane date, and the only Melbourne date have both already sold out. To compensate, the band have added an additional show in Melbourne on Tuesday, 4th October at the Corner Hotel.
In addition, Ball Park Music have also shared the third single from their forthcoming third album; Every Night The Same Dream – due for release 19th August. The new tune is called Whipping Boy, and was debuted to a loving and devoted audience at Splendour In The Grass last weekend.
The new tune is easily the simplest musically of the three tracks we’ve heard from the new LP – but there’s some typical sprawling emotion in the tune, which features some gorgeous choral vocals.
“It’s a basic song but it represents all I enjoy in good indie music: it’s fun and simple with some wacky sounds and some fascinating lyrics. I wrote the lyrics after reading about some famous scapegoats throughout history,” said BPM frontman Sam Cromack of the release.
