UPDATE: Decapitated have now released a statement regarding the rape and kidnapping accusations levelled against them.
UPDATE: Decapitated have now been accused of gang-raping a woman after a recent show.
ORIGINAL STORY: Polish death metal band Decapitated, who are currently on a co-headline ‘Double Homicide’ tour of the US with Australian band Thy Art Is Murder, have been arrested and charged with first-degree kidnapping following an alleged incident after a show.
According to a police statement, the four members of Decapitated — Michal Mikolaj Lysejko (27), Waclaw Jan Kieltyka (35), Rafal Tomasz Piotrowski (31) and Hubert Edward Wiecek (30) — were arrested on Saturday in Santa Ana, California, following an alleged incident that took place earlier this month.
The alleged incident took place only hours after the band performed in Spokane, Washington, when police received a call at 2am from an alleged kidnapping victim. The band were arrested in Santa Ana after having played a handful of other show across North America following the alleged incident.
Decapitated’s attorney, Steve Graham, has told the Spokesman-Review that the alleged incident involved a woman who appears to have attended the Spokane show.
“There is another side to this,” he said. “We have witnesses that can testify to the fact that the accuser came to visit the band of her own free will and left on good terms.”
He also said the band would “cooperate” with all investigations.
Decapitated are yet to publicly comment on their arrest, but Thy Art Is Murder have today posted a Facebook event for their upcoming Albuqurque show. It’s unclear if Decapitated will perform at the show, but Music Feeds has contacted Thy Art Is Murder for comment.
