Beyoncé‘s Formation World Tour looks like it’s going to finish up the year as the highest grossing tour of 2016 earning close to $330 million ($250 million USD).
As The Fader reports, the tour, in promotion of her most recent album Lemonade, saw her perform over 49 shows with each show grossing close to $7 million ($5.2 million USD).
The highest grossing show was at Wembley Stadium in London where she pulled in a massive $19.7 million ($15 million USD) for just one show which is not bad for a days work.
She sold over 2.2 million tickets for the tour which has only just wrapped up and saw her bring along guests including Kendrick Lamar, Serena Williams and Jay Z.
To put this into perspective, last year’s highest grossing tour was Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour grossed nearly the exact same amount as Beyonce’s tour last year, however, she played 85 shows in comparison to Bey’s 49.
Beyoncé’s tour is now in the top 20 highest grossing tours of all time, up there with the likes of The Rolling Stones, U2 and Madonna.
She’s still yet to give any hints as to whether she plans to bring the tour to Australia but we reckon Oz could help her push that total even higher.
