Big Boi anounces Australian tour in August/September 2011

One half of Grammy award winning hip hop duo Outkast, Big Boi has just announced an Australian tour at the end of winter, bringing a full live band as well as Mark Ronson collaborator and blog darling Theophilus London as main support.

Following on from the release of Outkast’s movie and accompanying album Idlewild in 2006, Big Boi began work on his solo debut, Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty (as well as working with the at the time upcoming talent Janelle Monae), the album only being released last year. Going on to become one of the largest releases of 2010, the album signaled Big Boi as one of the most popular artists in the industry today.

The upcoming tour, which follows on from select promotional appearances around the country last year (appearances that had fans begging for more), will see Big Boi performing all the hits of his solo album as well as throwing in some Outkast tunes such as I Like The Way You Move, So Fresh So Clean and Rosa Parks. With a full live band in tow, these shows are sure to be some of the most energetic and exciting to reach our shores this year.

Presale tickets go on sale this Friday with the general release set for 27th of April. Ticket bundles with Big Boi’s album Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son Of Chico Dusty will also be available
