Big Day Out 2014 organisers have released the new map and timetable for this weekend’s BDO event in Perth, which according to promoter AJ Maddah and CEO Adam Zammit, will be the last Big Day Out ever to be held in the city, labelled by Maddah as “the end of an area.”
The revised map and set-times come after the Perth event received a last-minute change of venue from the Claremont Showgrounds, where it was the subject of repeated gripes from the local council, to Arena Joondalup, where it was welcomed by VenuesWest chairman Graham Partridge.
Despite Patridge’s optimistic outlook regarding the future of BDO at Arena Joondalup, Maddah recently revealed that Perth punters should get used to traveling to see live music, as this weekend will be “Definitely the last BDO for Perth,”, with Zammit later confirming the news.
Speaking to The West Australian, Maddah said, “People have lost faith in the event in recent years… We can’t put the price up $10 per ticket in Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne so we can go to Perth and lose a pile of money.” Readers can check the new timetable and map, below.
