Beloved singer-songwriter Bill Callahan has announced his return to Australia in March next year for a run of local dates.
Callahan has been active since the early 90s and recorded under the name Smog up until 2007, when he began releasing records under his own name. Callahan will have a full band in tow for the shows, which include an appearance at Golden Plains Festival in Victoria alongside Pixies, Stereolab, Weyes Blood and more.
Callahan was last in Australia in 2017 for Vivid, and this time around brings new material following the release of latest studio LP, the double-album epic Shepherd in a Sheepskin Vest earlier this year.
In addition, Callahan will be bringing along Xylouris White – the duo of Dirty Three drummer Jim White and Cretan lute player George Xylouris – for all east coast headline shows.
