Billie Eilish Gives New Music Update & Announces Radio Show With Her Dad

As we know, Billie Eilish has an album in the works, and now she’s given another update on how writing is going in quarantine.

Speaking to Zane Lowe for Beats 1, she said that she felt “uninspired” for the first three weeks. “I don’t know why. I just was like, ‘This is not interesting to me right now,’” she explained.

“It was annoying though because it was like that’s the kind of thing you want to be doing in quarantine, but I couldn’t. I don’t know, I wasn’t feeling it. We did a lot of video performance charity”.

Then, a “couple weeks ago”, inspiration hit and she hit the studio (ie. her brother Finneas’ basement). “We wrote a whole song in its entirety, an entire song, which is kind of rare for us to just write a whole song in one,” Eilish explained.

“I really love it. It was exactly what I needed to say when we wrote it. It was like I don’t know. I can’t tell time anymore. But we’ve been doing a lot of stuff. We’re trying to finish this one that I’m not going to say. Yeah, we got some stuff coming.”

In the same chat, Eilish revealed to Lowe that she’s launching a new Apple Music radio show with her dad, Patrick O’Connell.

The show is called me & dad Radio an it will highlight the music the young Grammy-winner listened to through her formative years. “My dad and I have been putting each other on to music since I can remember, and we want to share it with you,” she said.

“My dad and I have had this relationship over the years of sharing music with each other. My dad has shown me some of my favourite songs in the world and I’ve shown him songs that he loves and adores also.”

After each show, a playlist of the tracks that Eilish and her dad chat about will be available to stream of Apple Music.

The first show went live this weekend and is now available to stream.
