Billie Eilish is teasing her return once again today as she shared a clip of new music on Instagram, and the Internet is subsequently bracing themselves.
Posting a brief video to Instagram earlier today, a newly-blonde Eilish turns around in a chair as music plays, featuring her singing the words “When I’m away from you, I’m happier than ever.”
The music is far more stripped-back and acoustic than anything Eilish has recently put out, but we’ll have to wait and see what comes of it before we get a sense of her new direction.
Eilish has been vocal about new music coming for a while now, even teasing last week that “things are comingggg”. We also know that her second album has been in the works for some time, though her and her brother Finneas were adamant in not releasing it during the midst of the pandemic.
Of course, her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? was an absolute monster of a commercial and critical success, and is still in the top 20 of the ARIA Album Chart – despite dropping over two years ago.
