Black Sabbath Reveal Release Date Of Reunion Record

Black Sabbath have announced that their still-to-be-titled reunion album will be out in April, 2013. The news comes from the beloved metal band’s official website, with a statement that reads, “Black Sabbath is currently recording their first new studio album in more than 33 years, helmed by seven-time Grammy-winning producer Rick Rubin. The album is due for release in April 2013.”

The news comes hot on the heels of Black Sabbath’s Australian tour announcement, which will see original band members Geezer Butler, Tony Iomni, and the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, visit most capital cities (sorry Adelaide). The tour was announced as a Halloween surprise just before 10pm last night, by way of Live Nation.

As for the album itself, Music Feeds’ last update revealed one of the new tracks’ title, God Is Dead. Ozzy, who is fronting a Sabbath album for the first time since 1978’s Never Say Die!, has been laying down vocals with Rubin, as the singer and producer work in groups of 5 songs at a time. In total there are 15 new Black Sabbath songs in the works, with 12 expected to appear on the forthcoming album, while the remaining three should appear as bonus tracks.
