An additional seven artists have been locked in for Bluesfest 2022.
The Byron Bay extravaganza has announced that multi award-winning, platinum-selling New Zealand act Six60 will be joining next year’s lineup, alongside Aussie legends Hoodoo Gurus, celebrated Yolngu rapper Baker Boy, soul singer Renée Geyer, The Teskey Brothers’ Sam Teskey in solo mode, blues artist Kara Grainger and The Tea Party frontman Jeff Martin in a very special performance, playing the songs of Led Zeppelin.
“The quality and talent on the Bluesfest lineup next Easter Long Weekend, Friday 15th April – Monday 18th April 2022, is incomparable and unmatched,” hypes festival boss, Peter Noble. “It is THE BEST Aussie & Kiwi lineup – EVER, and guess what… we ain’t finished!!”
The lineup already features the likes of Midnight Oil, Paul Kelly, Jimmy Barnes, The Teskey Brothers, Missy Higgins, Diesel and loads more.
Bluesfest had originally been rescheduled for October after its shock forced last-minute cancellation back in April, but organisers recently made the tough decision to scrap it as most of the country was plunged into extended lockdowns. It’s now been relocated to its normal Easter dates in 2022.
We’ve been promised almost all the October 2021 artists will return (as The Music Network reports, it seems The Cat Empire, Ocean Alley, Tash Sultana and Ziggy Alberts will be missing) and there are still plenty more acts TBA, including the festival’s headliners.
“HOLD ON TO YOUR TICKETS BLUESFESTERS – I STILL HAVE SOME AMAZING HEADLINERS TO ANNOUNCE,” Noble says.
Stay tuned!
