It appears the organisers behind Bluesfest 2017 have gone mad with power. Today, they continue to go above and beyond the call of duty, adding another batch of artists to their already impressive lineup.
Usually by the time you get this far into lineup instalments, you’re dealing with local flavour and up-and-comers. But oh no, not with Bluesfest. This lineup includes peddlers of UK ska Madness; the nine-member outfit comprised of Miles Davis alumni, Miles Electric Band; a new acoustic set from Patti Smith and her band; as well as Billy Bragg & Joe Henry and more.
In the words of the mad hatter himself — event organiser Peter Nobel — this isn’t even the end of the announcements.
“I feel this is one of our best announcements for music lovers,” he says. “There is a Blues announcement coming to you next week! Thank you for supporting us. It truly is going to be one of our best years.”
