Bluesfest Makes First Lineup Announcement For 2019

UPDATE: Bluesfest Makes Female-Heavy Second Lineup Announcement For 2019

ORIGINAL STORY: It’s finally here. Byron Bay’s annual Bluesfest has finally made its first lineup announcement for 2019, and holy moly this is looking like it will be one to remember.

At the top of this first announcement is Hawaiian legend Jack Johnson, who has a special rapport with Bluesfest, having first played the event in 2001 and returning most recently in 2014.

Joining Johnson is Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals. Harper was literally just in the country for this year’s Splendour In The Grass, performing alongside Charlie Musselwhite.

As well as these two heavyweights, this first announcement includes Ray LaMontagne, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Snarky Puppy, Kasey Chambers, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and loads more.

Check out the full first lineup announcement below.

Bluesfest is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019, and it’s all happening across the Easter Weekend long weekend — Thursday, 18th April to Monday, 22nd April. Given it’s such a momentous anniversary for the festival, expect this to be the first of many massive announcements.

“Our 30th anniversary Bluesfest will be a major event in a long line of great festivals,” says Festival Director Peter Noble.

“We will only turn 30 once, and we intend to make this edition truly memorable.”
