Boston Spaceships is the side-project of Guided By Voices main man Robert Pollard, also including the Decemberists‘ Joel Moen, as well as Chris Slusarenko, also of Guided By Voices. Their new LP comes out on August 2, as Pitchfork reports, going by the name of Let It Beard.
Guesting on the album are all of J.Mascis, Wire‘s Colin Newman, the Dream Syndicate‘s Steve Wynn, and the Dirtbombs‘ Mick Collins. Pollard put Guided By Voices back together last year, but it hasn’t stopped him devoting time to his ‘other’ band, who formed in 2008 and have been prolific ever since. Let It Beard is the follow-up to 2010’s Our Cubehouse Still Rocks.
