Boy And Bear recently returned with their brand-new single Southern Sun, set to be featured on their forthcoming full-length album Harlequin Dream, and now we’ve got the official video effort for the tune. The track gently ushers us into the new world of Boy And Bear, still bringing the same indie folk groove only this time with a little extra muscle.
The Sydney 5-piece have managed to broaden their sonic horizons while staying true to their maiden opus Moonfire. Southern Sun was inspired by the band’s recent love of all things Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and Fleetwood Mac as they carefully crafted their new album under the watchful gaze of Wayne Connolly.
According to frontman Dave Hosking, the track began taking form from the moment they took to the main stage at 2013 Falls Festival with the temperature, the setting sun and the atmosphere all proving too much to not capture in song. For the video feature, the band set up base camp in a very different setting – high atop a snow-covered mountain.
You will be able to catch this new jam and many more as the band will be hitting the highways of Australia this October for a national tour.
