Brisbane’s Getting A New Music Festival From Beyond The Valley And Origin Fields Organisers

The teams behind Victoria’s Beyond the Valley and Perth’s Origin Fields festivals have revealed they’ll be bringing some of the “most exciting dance, electronic, and hip-hop acts from around the world” together for a new festival in Brisbane at the end of the year.

Wildlands will have its debut on Saturday, 28th December at Brisbane Showgrounds, with Rüfüs Du Sol the first act announced for the bill.

Both Beyond the Valley and Origin Fields have boasted some pretty impressive lineups over the past couple of years. In 2018, the BTV bill included names like The Kooks, Joey Bada$$ and Client Liaison, while Origin Fields played host to Cardi B, Khalid, M.I.A. and Denzel Curry to name a few.

“Brisbane is such a beautiful city, filled with music lovers of all genres. Beyond The Valley & Origin host so much amazing talent touring the country over New Years, that often don’t visit Brisbane,” says Michael Cristidis of Beyond The Valley about the decision to launch the Brissy fezzy.

“Each festival has grown so much over the past years, carving their own unique festival experience & collectively we thought it’s time Brisbane gets their own taste of our flair too.

“We’re really excited to create something just for Brisbane that will be totally different to anything currently on offer, bringing the best of the East and West Coast together for one very special day.”

For Saran Bajaj of Origin Fields, Brisbane’s musical and cultural diversity is a strong selling point to putting the event together.

“Being able to curate a broader musical programme with our partners at BTV has been one of the most enjoyable booking experiences I’ve personally have ever had.

The full lineup and info about where to cop tickets are due soon – head to the festival’s website to stay in the loop.
