Broken Bells Release New Single ‘Holding On For Life’

Hot on the heels of Broken Bellssophomore album After the Disco, the creative duo of The Shins’ James Mercer and producer Danger Mouse have released their latest track Holding On For Life which sees the two tap their inner G-Funk while flying The Bee Gees flag high.

Much like some sort of multi-dimensional being, Holding On For Life morphs before your ears, changing from a ’90’s West Coast gangsta rap vibe, to a soundscape more befitting to a 5am club session after one solid night perhaps drawing influence directly from the upcoming albums title.

Even fans of Snoop Dogg/Lion/Zilla/Adelic will find this track to be a groove they can get down to, and the fact that the chorus contains enough falsetto to kill a small horse will appeal to the radio-friendly pop monster that lives within us all.

You can now take a journey through the ’70’s through to the early ’90s in the genre-confused but infectious Holding On For Life below. After The Disco will be released in January 2014.
