Fears are growing for Canberra DJ Escha (aka Alex Beddows), who has gone missing whilst on holiday overseas.
InTheMix reports that Beddows was on holiday with his family in the US, where he attended the New Orleans Jazz Festival, and subsequently went missing.
A report in The Canberra Times said, “That festival finished at 7PM, and Beddows is believed to have left the festival grounds with two men and a woman.
“About 9PM, Beddows was captured on CCTV cameras at a ferry station with the same people. He took a short ferry trip across the Mississippi River to Algier’s Point. There he was sighted in two local bars, the last of which was Louie’s Corner Bar, where he was seen up until midnight. Beddows then disappeared, and has not been seen or heard from for seven days.”
Back home in the capital, the music community has mobilised to organise a fundraiser to enable Beddows’ family to travel to New Orleans to aid in the search for the missing MC. The event, called Music For Alex, will take place at Transit Bar on Sunday 22 May. Local artists Karton, Jemist and Rees1 are taking part. Tickets are priced at $10 with all proceeds going to Beddows’ family.
