Geroge ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher, frontman of legendary death metal titans Cannibal Corpse, has shared another slice of his upcoming solo album ‘On Wings Of Carnage”.
Set to feature on his debut solo offering Corpsegrinder, ‘On Wings Of Carrnage’sounds exactly like its name suggests – brutal death metal riffs combined with punishing groove to provide a violent musical backdrop for Fisher’s aggressive roar. Check it out below.
It’s one of the rare ‘solo spin-off’ death metal efforts of recent memory, with the full LP recorded by Nick Bellmore and Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta.
“When Jamey approached me to do this record, I was fired up to get into the studio with Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse guitarist) and record the vocals,” says Fisher.
“It’s a mix of death metal, thrash, and hardcore, and it sounds heavy as hell!!! I’m really excited about it, and I can’t wait for the world to hear it!!!”
Fisher has become something of a caricature in the metal world in recent years, with his brutal voice and often gory lyrics juxtaposed with his teddy-bear like personality, contending for the “nicest guy in metal” title.
Corpsegrinder drops February 25th and comes just over a year after Cannibal Corpses’ latest effort Violence Unimagined, largely considered their best record in the past decade.
