Cannibal Corpse Guitarist Arrested For Assault & Burglary, While Ammo Explodes Inside His Home

Pat O’Brien, lead guitarist of American death metal outfit Cannibal Corpse, has been arrested for assault and burglary, around the same time ammunition stored inside his Florida home has caught fire and exploded.

WFLA reports that a fire broke out in O’Brien’s home on Monday night, and while firefighters controlled the fire in around an hour, ammunition inside the building exploded due to the flames.

Around the same time O’Brien’s house caught fire, police were reportedly called to an alleged burglary at a nearby home.

O’Brien’s arrest report claims the rocker went into the nearby house without permission, ignored orders from the occupants to leave, and pushed a woman down inside the house before making his way into the backyard.

Police reportedly found O’Brien hiding behind a fence near the house, before he allegedly charged at them with a knife. Police used a taser to subdue the musician, who has since been charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling with assault and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

O’Brien’s bond has been set at $50,000, and he is required to complete a drug test before he’s able to post the bond. The cause of the fire in his home is yet to be determined.

Cannibal Corpse were yesterday announced as a support act on the next North American leg of Slayer’s farewell tour. The group last toured Australia in 2014.
