Childish Gambino Announces 6th And Final Album ‘Bando Stone & The New World’

Hot on the heels of announcing his first Australian tour since 2019, Childish Gambino has shared the details of his sixth and final studio album. Dubbed Bando Stone & The New World, the final chapter of Donald Glover’s rap project will arrive on Friday, 19th July.

But that’s not all – we’re also getting a movie to match. Gambino has also just premiered an official trailer for what appears to be a comedy/action/adventure flick also dubbed Bando Stone & The New World, which you can stream below.

No word yet on whether the movie will arrive on the same day as the album, but we’ll keep you posted.

In a recent Instagram live stream, Glover said his forthcoming final record is “mostly about fun.”

“I’m trying to have fun,” the rapper-slash-actor explained. “Because I feel like there’s just people not having enough fun… When I was a kid there was, like, big things that would unite us and I just feel bad for y’all. I feel bad for some of y’all.”

A statement from Glover’s label RCA Records has also confirmed the new LP “notably serves as the final album under his Childish Gambino imprint”.

We’ve also received our first taste of the record in the form of the Max Martin and Ludwig Göransson-produced track ‘Lithonia’. On the track, Gambino sets the scene for the dystopian world of the LP as he introduces a character dubbed Cody LaRae – stream it below.
