Sydney prog-rockers Cog have announced their comeback after a five-and-a-half year hiatus, with some east coast shows now lined up for July.
Kicking off in Byron Bay on 8th July, the band’s reunion tour will also head to Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney to give loyal fans the chance to check out how much juice the trio’s huge live show still has, and whether or not any new tracks will be on display.
Earlier this month, Cog teased fans by a number of not-so-subtle updates to their Facebook page, including a new profile picture, cover photo and some galleries of old tour posters and stage passes. As it turns out, fans who took these updates as something not completely random were actually onto something.
Cog went on hiatus in 2010 after 12 years of solid touring and two studio albums, including their latest full-length, 2008’s Sharing Space. Since then, the band’s Lucius Borich has spent some time in Floating Me before joining The Nerve alongside longtime collaborator Ezekiel Ox. In 2012, Cog brothers Flynn and Luke Gower also launched their musical project The Occupants.

UPDATE 10/02/16: Mere hours after announcing a run of reunion shows, the Sydney prog-rockers have got a completely SOLD OUT tour on their hands. Thankfully, they’ve announced a bunch of extra shows. See the updated tour dates below.
UPDATE 11/02/16: Cog’s 2016 east coast tour has completely sold out again, and the band have shared the following message:
“And yet, after all this time you guys still have our backs? Incredible. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and wanted once again. You amaze us with your generosity and for that we are eternally grateful. We will do our best and work hard to return the favour. See you all in July.”
UPDATE 23/02/16: After all their east coast shows sold out AGAIN, COG have announced two more shows! See the updated dates below.
