Aussie rockers Confession and Hand Of Mercy have announced they will both play their final shows ever in January next year at Sydney’s Strike Hard Festival, which today unveiled its 2016 lineup.
Aside from Confession and Hand Of Mercy performing for the final time, Strike Hard Festival 2016 will also feature a one-off reunion show from local mosh metal outfit Shinto Katana, as well as sets from the likes of Relentless, Ocean Grove and Boris The Blade.
Confession’s forthcoming breakup was announced by the band’s frontman Michael Crafter back in October, before the group were added to the 2016 UNIFY Gathering lineup and later announced their own national farewell tour.
Hand Of Mercy parted ways with frontman Scott Bird in 2014, but announced in August this year that they would break up after reuniting with Bird for Buried In Verona’s Vultures Above, Lions Below national tour.
Posting to Facebook, Hand Of Mercy say they’re pumped to close out their time as a band at Strike Hard Festival.
“We are stoked to be sharing the day with our friends in Confession as they also play their final ever show,” the band say. “There are so many friends bands playing, new and old and we couldn’t be more stoked!”
Strike Hard Festival 2016 will take place over two stages at the UTS Underground on 30th January. Catch the full lineup alongside ticket details, below.
