Confirmed, Paul Kelly Is Set To Headline This Year’s AFL Grand Final

With September well and truly upon us now, not only has Spring sprung, but the rumours surrounding the AFL Grand Final’s half time entertainment have today been well and truly confirmed.

Yesterday, we talked about the rumour of Paul Kelly headlining the night’s musical entertainment. The speculation originally began because of 3AW’s The Rumour File, reporting that the AFL would soon be announcing Kelly as the headliner. The Rumour File has correctly predicted the last three AFL music lineups ahead of time.

Looks like they were right for a fourth time, with the AFL announcing today that they’ve gone and booked an all-Australian lineup with Paul Kelly headlining the event.

The lineup, comprised of Kelly, Dean Lewis, Tones & I & more, will perform in the Virgin Australia Pre-Game show at the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final Day on Saturday, 28th September at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said, “The Australian music industry is as diverse and as strong as it has ever been, so to be able to have all these talented artists be a part of Grand Final day is fantastic.”

“Australian performers who have broken through on the global stage mixed with award-winning artists and some of our most well-loved and well-known songs will be sure to make the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final a memorable one.”
