Could Hole finally, actually be about to reunite, like for real this time? Frontwoman Courtney Love has just teased the seminal 90’s grunge act’s imminent reunion, telling a crowd of fans in the UK, “Later… I’ll be back in Hole.”
She dropped the bombshell during a surprise onstage appearance alongside Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong‘s covers band, The Coverups, during a show in London earlier this week.

“My name is Courtney Love – you may not remember me. I’ve been living in a cave in Birmingham for about nine years,” the singer, who has been largely out of the public eye lately, explained after jumping up onstage with the band. “We’ll give this a fucking try, right?”
Love then joined Armstrong & co for a rendition of Cheap Trick’s ‘He’s a Whore’ and Tom Petty’s ‘Even the Losers’, before later returning for the encore of Cheap Trick’s ‘Surrender’.
Hole officially broke up back in 2002, but there have been brief glints of hope for a full reunion since 2010. The band’s mid-90’s lineup came together in 2012 to perform a brief set following a screening of drummer Patty Schemel’s documentary Hit So Hard.
Love then went on to tease reunions in 2013 and 2016, both of which sadly never materialised.
Then, in 2019, she told The Guardian “We are definitely talking about it,” before she and bassist Melissa Auf der Maur, drummer Patty Schemel and guitarist Eric Erlandson all got together for a rehearsal session. Sadly though, live shows never materialised.
Could 2024 be the year it finally happens?
We’ll keep you updated.
